Lar

Privacy Policy

Effective 23 October 2026

Lar is a web browser for iPhone and iPad. This policy describes what happens to your data when you use it.

What we collect

Nothing. Lar has no analytics, no crash reporting SDKs, no advertising and no accounts, and we run no servers of our own. The developer does not collect any data about you or how you use Lar.

Where your browsing data is stored

Your threads, pages, history, page snapshots, Apps, settings, and the cookies and website data of the sites you visit are stored on your device. Files you download are saved in the Files app (On My iPhone › Lar, or On My iPad › Lar).

If iCloud is turned on, this data syncs between your devices through your own iCloud private database (Apple CloudKit). The developer cannot read it. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.

Private threads are never saved and never synced.

Network requests

Apart from iCloud sync, Lar only loads the pages and searches you ask for. Searches go to DuckDuckGo, the only search engine Lar offers. Websites you visit receive what any browser sends them, such as your IP address and the requests needed to load their pages, and their own privacy policies apply.

Thread names

Thread names are generated by Apple Intelligence on your device, when Apple Intelligence is available and turned on.

Content blocking

The lists Lar uses to block trackers, ads and cookie banners ship inside the app. Nothing is downloaded for them.

Photos

Lar only asks for permission to add images you choose to save to your photo library. It has no access to read your library.

Deleting your data

Children

Lar does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
